Our Trip to Texas!

We went to Texas over Easter weekend of 2006.  We spent some time with Mary Fay Jackson and Mike Culpepper (their names are linked to their sites).  We toured Gainesville and Ft Worth and we had a GREAT time.  Mary lives in Gainesville and they had a Church service concert booked for Sunday, at the Will Rogers Coliseum in Ft Worth.  So we went with them and helped them to get set up and helped with the sound and took some pictures for them there.

It was ALOT of fun.  We also went to the Ft Worth Stockyards and these pictures chronicle most of our trip.

A little background is in order here.  We met Mary Fay through doing her website.  And then we met Mike Culpepper when we redid HIS site, too.  And on the Texas Country Gospel show (which Mary is the host of <
Link for the Show>) Ted Pressley (who is a Pastor and founder of Cowboys for Christ) gives 30 second salvation messages and we have always loved him and wanted to meet him.

We were blessed to finally meet him and got some pictures of him, too.

Ted Pressley holds Church services in that building (as well as other "cowboy" venues) and the crowd is in front of the "stage" so you can't see them.  There were just a little over 100 people there.  He is a cowboy and he has Church FOR cowboys, on their turf.  They have branches all over the US.

Here is their site:

Mary Fay let Nicole sing on stage!

She had promised to let her do that awhile back, so Nicole had been practicing the song for awhile now.

She sang "Jesus is Coming" and the clip for that song is here:

Mike Culpepper films and edits the Texas Country Gospel shows and he filmed this concert to use on the show.  So Nicole's segment might end up on TV on GMT (also on www.gmtn.info) when they air this one.  We got the DVD of her singing and the entire service.  So we're excited about it.  Nicole LOVED being on stage and she hopped right up there when Mary called her over.  I thought she'd freeze up and not sing.  But she loved it and we had a REALLY good time.

Mary also mentioned us on stage and mentioned how Nicole knows her songs.  Then she sang a song for me that I love, that she does.

Here is the clip for that song.

We had an absolute blast.  We went out to eat with them after the service and they paid for a hotel for us for two nights and all of our meals while we were there.  We didn't expect them to but they insisted so we let them.

It was really a fun time for all of us.  We had a blast and we wanted to share it with you all.

This page simply chronicles our weekend for our friends and family with pictures....

This is Mary Fay at the office.  She answers the phone, prays for people (she keeps a prayer journal that she and her entire Church prays over), takes orders for videos, music CD's, tapes and DVD's of the show, when they call in during and after the show.  She has other people helping her.  But she likes to make sure that it is all taken care of properly.

This is Nicole and Mary rehearsing her song in Mary's kitchen when we were there visiting with her and working on her home computer.

This is when Nicole first met Mike Culpepper and she was VERY nervous.  She latched onto him later and he gave her his card and told her to call him.  It was really  funny.  Now she's kinda smitten with him.
He's got kids and grandkids and it was just too cute.

This is when Nicole and Mary actually sang the song on stage.  Nicole did a great job with it.

This is when Mary told Nicole to "take it away" and she sang the chorus by herself.  It was SO much fun!

This is when they sang God Bless the USA.

This is when they sang one of their original songs.

This is Pastor Ted Pressley and Shannon Hall.

This is Shannon Hall.  He's a champion "cutter" and he does the worship for Ted's fellowship in Ft Worth.

This is Pastor Ted Preaching the Easter service.

This is the Will Rogers Coliseum.  It smelled STRONGLY of horse manure....We had a GREAT time, though.

This is us with Ted Pressley, after the service.

We hope that you all enjoyed the pictures and our weekend.  We feel SO blessed that the Lord has allowed us to be friends with them and grateful for all of the new doors that He's opening in our life.  We have really been having alot of FUN lately with all of this.

God is SO good folks!
