Heb 10:12 But this man, after he had offered one sacrifice for sins for ever, sat down on the right hand of God;

Let us propose for a moment that you were just killed in a car accident.  What happens next? Some would tell you nothing you just go to to sleep and that is the end of you and your soul.

What if this happened instead.  You were driving down the road and all of a sudden a car swerved in front of you and hit you head on and there was no time to react.  You remember seeing the car swerve and that is the last thing that you remember.  All of a sudden you are standing in a place where you see these mighty gates ahead of you.  A beautiful, huge city with gates made of pearl.  You see a person standing there at a podium and after a few moments of getting familiar with your surroundings, you approach this person.




You ask him where you are and he says "you are standing before the gates of Heaven.  I am here to see if your name is in the Book of Life."  What if it's not, you might ask?  Well then you do not enter these gates.  You might ask, Well how do I get through the gates, then?  Then the gates open just a little and you see a man coming towards you and His appearance is bright and shining as the sun.  Just the appearance of Him gives you a calm.
You ask him "How do I get through the gates?" He might say to you, "Remember the time that this person approached you and asked you if you knew Jesus" and you just blew it off?  Or maybe the time your friend invited you to Church or to your Uncle Bob's funeral.  These are just some of the times that you could have been introduced to Me, but you chose not to.  You see I gave My life for you.  I became a man, born of a virgin so that I might walk among you and be an example. 

A lot of people did not take Me seriously but those who did, it was given to them the opportunity to become the sons of God.  You see I had to live a sinless life and then these people killed Me by driving nails through My hands on a wooden cross.  But you see, I did not mind doing this because I had went about healing the sick and raising the dead and teaching people how they should live. 

I did all of this so that you could come up here and be with Me.  I had My disciples write My words and their testimonies down, along with the old testament for you.  It is a handbook on how to live your life to make it through these Pearly Gates.  But first you would have had to accept Me into your life and then your name would be in that book.  You see when I was on earth I may have been a man but I was also God.   That is why I could forgive sin.  I gave my disciples authority over the devil to cast out demons, heal the sick, make the blind to see and the lame to walk.  All they had to do was believe.

I gave you many opportunities to receive Me into your life but you refused, were caught up in what was going on around you and did not have time for Me.

Well now you put Me into a position where I have to deny you!  You see now there is no chance that you can enter Heaven because everyone who is inside of those gates accepted my sacrifice and they dedicated their lives to Me.  So you will spend the rest of eternity separated from God in outer darkness; there shall be wailing and gnashing of teeth.  I did not want this for you.  I had a better plan but this is what you chose.  So I will depart from you now.  You say "But wait, I lived a good life I served my community, I gave to the poor."  Jesus replies, "Yes but without My blood covering your life, you are a filthy rag before God."

But because of My blood you would have been righteous before God.  I am sorry.  Then He turns and walks back through the gates.  

My friend, this could be your scenario but it does not have to be.  God sacrificed his only begotten Son on the cross just for you, so that you could join Him in Heaven.  He loves you and does not want to be separated from anyone, but you have to accept Jesus into your heart.  If you do that sincerely, then you will never be the same again. Then you too will enter those pearly gates.

Is that a choice you are ready to make right now?

John 3:16-17 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. (17) For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.

Rom 6:23 For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.

Rom 3:23 For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;

Rom 10:9-10 That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. (10) For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.

All you have to do is say this prayer and sincerely mean it in your heart.
Dear Lord I know that I am a sinner.  I know that nothing I can do can get me into Heaven.  I accept the gift that Jesus did for me on the cross of Calvary.  I believe that You are the Son of God.  Lord Jesus come into my heart.

It is that simple.  Now if you truly meant it, then God will begin dealing with things in your life that are not appropriate for a Christian.  Some things change right away, others maybe later on.  The first thing to do is get a Bible and start reading Matthew in the new testament is a good starting place. The second thing is you need to find a good, Bible believing Church.
